Story time to be held at JCPL (12/27/05)

The Jay County Public Library will have a baby and toddler activity time on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 9:30 a.m. Those up to age three are invited to attend with a caregiver and older siblings also may attend. There will be stories, toys, music and instruments shared.
Cat Club party
The Jay County 4-H Cat Club will have a holiday party on Friday, Dec. 30, at The Brown Bowl in Portland. Members and parents are asked to arrive at 7:30 p.m. for a short business meeting with food and festivities to follow. Please RSVP by Dec. 29 to co-leader’s Ginny Jackson or Axton Betz.
Babysitter training
The American Red Cross will offer a Babysitter Training Course on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross, 325 E. Washington St., Muncie.
The course is for 13 to 16 year olds and the cost is $25. They will receive Red Cross certification in babysitting, a supply pack for small injuries, a legal pad and a flashlight.

Receives masters
Jay County High School and Ball State University graduate Nicole Hosier recently received her master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University.
She also received the Outstanding Professional Award for Leadership.
Nicole teaches at Clarksville Middle School in Clarksville and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hosier.
Receives scholarship
Matthew Minnich, Portland, received the David Laine Scholarship, worth $3,500, at the Foundry Education Foundation’s (FEF) annual College Industry Conference held in Chicago in November.
Minnich is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering at Tri-State University in Angola.[[In-content Ad]]
