Students tout love of reading
Editor's Mailbag
By To the editor-
To the editor:
This poem is dedicated to my teachers, Mrs. DeHoff, Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Lightle and Mrs. Mitchel.
Thanks for making reading so much fun.
I am doing this for Reading Is Fundamental (RIF).

Take heed, take heed
Jordan likes to read.
He would read all day and read all night.
He would read until there were no books left in sight.
He would read in April, May and June.
Why, Jordan would even read on the moon.
One book, two book, three book, four.
Jordan will read more and more.
Thank you.

I like to read
To the editor:
I like to read, it’s fun and neat, reading even makes me wiggle my feet.
I like to read, it makes me feel like I’m there, reading can even make me a bear.
I like to read out loud, I even like to read to the clouds.
Reading will take you for a really fun ride, so go on, open your book and jump inside.

Reading
To the editor:
Reading is fun, while sitting in the sun.
Reading is cool, because I learned it in school.
Reading takes you places a far, even to places like Mars.
Reading to me is a gift that is great, a gift that I will always appreciate.
I read with my mom, I read with my dad, I even read when weather is bad.
Reading makes you smart, and helps you to learn, so not get reading, it’s your turn.
Andrew F. Eley, 9

Books
To the editor:
Books are maps of places, and things, when you open a book you never know what it will bring.
Books are scary, sad, and fun, when you open them you can’t stop at just one!
Books are full of knowledge, and dreams, and some are even full of screams.
Books, that is your best habit, if you can’t think where to start, try Peter Rabbit.
