Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
This letter is long overdue. I would like to thank Rob Weaver of WPGW for the countless hours he spends covering the youth of Jay County. In particular, I wish to thank him for coming to every single band contest that the Jay County Marching Patriots enter. Many times, he is the only radio announcer there. He goes every year to the Indiana State Fair Band competition. It is a huge commitment of time. One has but to listen to know he is very knowledgeable and enjoys the students in the band.
Remarkably, he spends time not only on the band, but he and his staff cover the sports calendar from top to bottom. We are indeed fortunate to have this type of community involvement.
Likewise, I wish to thank Jack Ronald and the staff of The Commercial Review. They are present at seemingly every function in which our schools and organizations engage. We as a community owe a huge debt of gratitude to our local media. Many communities cannot boast the commitment and professionalism we have in Jay County.
Please support our local media.
Again, I say thank you.
Sincerely,
Donna Haggenjos

Drama
To the editor:
It seems the Redkey Council can’t get anything done for all the drama going on. Good for Kyle Champ for setting up a meeting to get to the bottom of the situation and hopefully put an end to it.
Doug Stanley has been on the advisory board for our sewer separation project from day one. I hope he sticks to his guns and stays on.
I can’t believe a new board member of two weeks can possibly know enough about this to ask for Mr. Stanley to be replaced.
There is a 15-year employee job on the line due to all the drama. Lots of discrimination going on. I might add that this employee is the only one to have full certification.
It’s time the town board stands up and makes the right moves. I think they still are in charge.
I have faith that all this drama will end soon and help Redkey grow once again. Thanks to Redkey police for the help in getting yards mowed.
One added note: Doug Stanley receives no pay for his efforts. Just a lot of hours.
Thanks for listening.
