Thank you for craft show help

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Xi Chapter, Delta Theta Tau, Portland, would like to take this opportunity to thank the many individuals who participated in the success of Xi Chapter’s 29th annual Delts’ Holiday Arts and Crafts Show.
We are fortunate to have the support, cooperation, and tolerance of the administrators, faculty and staff at Jay County High School. The success of our show would not be possible without their support and help. Thank you.
A very special thank you to each custodian who was a part of the Friday-evening set-up, which is not only time consuming for them and upsets their regular routine and schedule, but requires them to be willing to help us out with many issues.
And to each custodian that was a part of the show on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They were there to help with each situation that came up before, during the show and during clean-up. Thank you.
To the students that helped mark booths Thursday and Friday; the swim team and coach Barry Weaver; the wrestling team and coach James Myers and all other coaches, the foods classes and Nicole Myers; band students; individual students from Jay County Choir, East Jay and West Jay, the hard work of these individuals and groups is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you also to MainStreet Market and Fisher Packing.
We extend a sincere thank you to the Jay County Sheriff’s Department and the reserves for their help.
Thank you to Santa for taking his time to visit the show.
We value all of our participating dealers. Their participation not only by displaying their arts and crafts, but also by renting booth space and tables, buying raffle tickets and purchasing food items adds to the money that is used to help many. The dealers play a valuable part in this giving back. Also, thank you for your generosity of donations for the drawings throughout the day.
Our show would not be the success it is without the patronage and enthusiasm of our community and surrounding communities. We thank each of you for your support. You support our craft show in many ways. Your support makes it possible to give back to those in need. Also, the local businesses you visit in the Jay County Area that day appreciate your support. Thank you.
We would like to congratulate Katie Leonhard, Portland, who won the Christmas Quilt made by our Delt Sister, Sharon Beeler, and to Flora Paxson, Pennville, for winning the utility tote filled with holiday surprises.
We would like to take this time to acknowledge and praise each of our Delta sisters. Without each of you and your commitment to Delta Theta Tau, the Holiday Arts and Crafts Show would not exist. The rewards that we receive are many. Each time we are able to extend a helping hand to someone, we realize how significant and satisfying all the work, tired muscles and hours of planning are to our community. It is our time to give back and this event makes that possible. The realization that the success of this event has enabled Xi Chapter to give back more than $500,000 in the last 29 years is humbling and fills our hearts with pride.
We extend a sincere thank you to each of our sisters that are associate members or members-at-large that are willing to help in many ways — volunteering their time, providing baked goods, or a donation.
This event would not be possible without many helping hands. Thank you to our friends at the Youth Service Bureau. The Staff and the residents there donated their time helping at the craft show. Thank you.
And to our families, we could not survive without your understanding, encouragement and assistance. You are there to do anything we ask. And we ask so much of you. The show would not be possible or be as successful without you.
If you helped in any way and we forgot to mention you, we sincerely apologize. But please know that it takes many helping hands to achieve the success of this event and, in turn, allows Xi Chapter, Delta Theta Tau, to give back to our community.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Linda Ashman
