Thank you for Fiber Fest support
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The Jay County Visitor & Tourism Bureau Board of Directors and staff would like to thank all participants of this year’s Fiber Fest & Spin-In at Jay County Fairgrounds.
The event was again a success, bringing in people from all over Indiana and the Midwest for a great weekend of celebrating the fiber arts.
We would like to thank all volunteers and vendors who helped make the weekend such a great success. These extraordinary people work so hard each year to teach the kids about the fiber arts and to keep everything running smoothly throughout the weekend. Thank you to Jamie Davis, Kay Strasburg and Beth Davis for helping with the soup supper and for helping to raise money for the food banks of Jay County. Thank you to everyone who helped the night of the silent auction and who purchased items to support the food bank. A huge thank you to those who donated items to be in the silent auction, as well.
Jim Bob McEwen and Bob Lyons did a great job organizing the FFA Judging Contest and assisting throughout the event. Thank you to Bill and Sally of Reynold’s Animal Farm for bringing and assisting with the petting zoo. The Jay County Visitor and Tourism Bureau would like specifically to thank Dave Frasher, Elvin Newhouse, Kenya Habegger, Dorie Scott, Gretchen Lehman, Betty Liechty, Bev Salmon, Janice Bray, Linda Ashcraft, Max and Shelba Chenoweth, Helen Rouch, Tom Jacobs, Carol Knarr, our greeters and everyone who helped in the animal barn throughout the weekend. Also, thank you to John Boggs, Rob Weaver and the WPGW staff for making this year’s Fiber Fest extra special with advertising for the event.
Around 1,000 people came to the Fiber Fest to see demonstrations, meet with vendors, purchase items, visit the petting zoo or to support the food banks of Jay County at the soup supper. None of these things would be available without the generous contributions of our sponsors, Raymond James & Associates and Richards Restaurant. Thank you so much for helping our organization to promote and provide this event to the community.
Next year’s Fiber Fest is scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2015. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about the Fiber Fest, please contact Gyneth Augsburger, director of the Jay County Visitor & Tourism Bureau, at (260) 726-3366 or visit our website at www.visitjaycounty.com.
