Thank you for food donations

To the editor:
Employees of the Portland Bryant post offices would like to thank residents for their generous donations to Helping Hands Food Pantry during our recent Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Many thanks to Pizza Hut for donating pizzas on the day of the drive for all volunteers. Thanks to all current and retired postal employees and their families, as well as East Jay Middle School students who volunteered their time to help collect, weigh and load items into the Community and Family Services truck.
Thanks to Carly Nichols at Community and Family Services for her assistance coordinating transportation of the donated items to the local pantry as well as helping collect donations throughout Portland.
Due to the generosity of all those mentioned, we were able to collect more than 5,400 pounds of food to be used right here in Jay County.
This amount is the highest amount in the past five years.
