Thanks for car show success
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
Sometimes you may say to yourself, why do I do this, or how can I do this? That is the thoughts I had on July 18 as I heard the weather report the day of the Hollow Block Monster Car Show.
But when I stopped and thought of the reason we do the show, it motivated me to do whatever I needed to do to keep the show scheduled.
The show was down some this year because of weather factors and that was understandable, but for the ones who braved the rain and stuck it out until the sun started shining after lunch, we want to thanks you for being brave and caring for others as we do.
As the saying goes, "after the rain you can look to the sky again, the clouds will give way to light of the day."
We are hoping that the clouds of rain that seem to be pouring all over Dale Hebenthal right now, financially and physically, will go away. We hope the benefits from the show will help him to see the shining of the sun when he wonders why do I do this and how do I accomplish this?
Dale has been informed they will continue to give him treatments, which they had said was not going to be possible. Would you keep him in your thoughts and prayers? I'm sure when the word cancer was heard by Dale from his doctor, his thoughts were how can I do this and how do I do this? This is why we have the show, even though the weather may not be good. We want to give all we have to help more like Dale.
We would like to thank every sponsor or if you just did the smallest things that you thought weren't noticed. We want you to know you are the ones who make this show possible.
A special thank you to the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association, the Moose Lodge and our anonymous sponsor. You are great people. Again, thank you to all the car buffs and sponsors.
Plan on another show next year.
