Thanks given for kind gesture
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I would like to express my appreciation to Portland Mayor Bruce Hosier, the Portland Fire Department and Wal-Mart.
We found ourselves without water on Tuesday, Nov. 24, due to a water main break across from CrownPointe.
Mayor Hosier came to our building and arranged for the fire department to pick up gallons of water for us at Wal-Mart. Within about 30 minutes, we had water delivered here to us.
Many acts of kindness go unnoticed and I would like to acknowledge this kindness shown to our residents and staff here at CrownPointe.
Thank you mayor for your thoughtfulness.

Great job
To the editor:
I would like to say thank you to Vera "Sue" McBride and her volunteers for the wonderful job they do in decorating the Courthouse. This is a huge undertaking and they do such a beautiful job. Even though Sue has not been in the best of health she still took on this project because she loves doing it for her community. She even decorated extra trees for not-for-profit organizations. Wow, what a woman. Thanks again and God Bless.

Listen
To the editor:
I was listening to the radio this morning and something caught my ear.
The mayor got on and said that each one of us is an ambassador of this town. Then he goes on to say how what we do now will affect our future.
I really don't recall what his stand was on the display at Arts Place in front of our children and how it is O.K.
We are getting ready to go into a season that is supposed to mean more than just that. It is about a man who loved us as we were, yet sinners, and died for us so we could have life more abundantly.
He left us here as His ambassadors to give the good hope. They don't have to burn in their lust and sins.
He is the way and the truth and the life. If you are true Christians, be his ambassador, the highest-ranking diplomatic representative of one country to another.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Can anyone hear me?
