To the editor:
On behalf of the Jay School Corporation Reading is Fundamental program, I would like to thank all of the Jay County businesses, industries and not-for-profit organizations for their generous contribution to this wonderful reading program.
The Reading is Fundamental program, known as RIF, allows each student in grades kindergarten through five to receive a free book of his or her choice three times a year. It is usually distributed with a theme for what is going on in the individual school or some kind of national event encouraging how important reading is in the learning process.
Our local distribution reaches 1,766 students in all seven of our county elementary schools. For some of the students it might be the only books they will ever have in their home.

To the editor:
The citizens of Dunkirk and the surrounding area have a great asset in the West Jay Clinic. A big thank you to Jay County Hospital for purchasing this facility and for Dr. Steve Myron and Preferred Medical Management for its continued management.
Also, a big thank you to Dr. Eric Betts for agreeing to staff this facility. Dr. Betts is a wonderful doctor and I hope all residents will give him a chance to treat their medical needs.
In order for a facility of this type to succeed in a small community, it needs your business. So please continue to patronize this great asset if you are currently doing so, and give them a try if you are not. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Again, thank you for this terrific facility.
