Thanks given for prom help (04/24/07)

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

On Saturday, Jay County High School hosted its junior-senior prom. The theme this year was "Moonlight Journey." The commons was transformed into a beautiful dancing area. The students and sponsors worked very hard to make this a special night for everyone to remember.

The junior class after-prom committee would like to thank Kari Anderson and Jan Rittenhouse, the junior class sponsors, for all their assistance to our committee.

A thank you also goes out to: The JCHS administration, faculty and staff who attended the prom or helped in any way; the Jay County Sheriff's Department for assisting in the safety of all the students and guests; Karmella VanSkyock and the food department at JCHS.

A very big thank you goes out to the community businesses and organizations. As always you came through tremendously with your generous contributions and it is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting our youth.

Our after-prom committee worked very hard through the months of preparation. The results were a smooth, organized night for the kids. Committee chairpersons were: Steve and Sarah Rines, Todd and Joni Penrod, Rob and Susan Moser, Kenny and Jeannette Daniels, Rob and Bonita Frazee, Butch and Chris Cook, and Michael and Jan Hunt. Thanks to all the parents who assisted these chairpersons.

Finally, thanks to all the students who attended, participated and behaved so well. Hopefully your memories of prom 2007 - "A Moonlight Journey" - will remain a special part of your high school experience.
