Thanks given for response (08/05/2008)

To the editor:

My husband was involved in an accident on his scooter on July 16 on U.S. 27 north of Portland.

We both want to thank Jay County Hospital, Bryant Fire Department and Jay County police. Also, Jay Emergency Medical Service for their efficiency after the accident.

He is doing well.

Bingo thanks

To the editor:

It takes the work of many, many people to make the great Jay County Fair what it is. The staff and residents of CrownPointe Assisted Living want to thank the fair board for all they do for our community.

We sponsored a free senior bingo at the fair on Senior Citizens Day (July 31).

At this time we would like to thank the following businesses for their generous donations: Country Creek Primitives, Curves, Life Bridge, State of the Heart Hospice, McDonald's, CVS, Miller's Merry Manor - Dunkirk, Family Hospice, Care One Homecare Services, MainSource Bank, Oasis, Bank of Geneva, Baird Freeman Funeral Home, Northside Carry-out, Southern Care and Gentiva Home Health.

These businesses provided very nice prizes for the participants. We would also like to thank the Pennville American Legion for providing the bingo cards and equipment.

We hope to see you all at the 2009 Jay County Fair.
