Thanks given from Boys, Girls clubs (01/12/07)

To the editor:

We would like to take this time to thank everyone who worked together to make this year's Jay County Boys and Girls Club Christmas party a huge success. We served pizza, soft drinks, and ice cream (Thanks for the ice cream Ned Stucky) to 154 kids. We then bused the kids to JCHS to watch the Jay County vs. Muncie Central boys basketball game. After the game, we took the kids to the Brown Bowl, where the festivities ended at midnight. Without the collective effort from a multitude of resources, none of this would have been possible.

First of all, thanks to all of the following people who acted as chaperones all evening: Kristy Ainsworth, Leah Butcher, Rena Caldwell, Jack Houck, Michael Hunt, Troy Jacks, Zach Keller, Jennifer McGraw, Alissa McMillan, Tony Overton, Shaun Roberts, and David and Tracy Ryder.

Thanks to the following board members (past and present), who helped serve the food and drinks: Ned Stucky, Mike Simons, and Janet Bantz (along with husband Ken).

Thank you to Teresa Myers from the Jay County High School bus barn for coordinating all five buses for us for the evening. Also, thanks to the bus drivers for your patience with shuttling the kids around during the evening.

Thanks to Pizza Hut for your prompt, courteous and affordable service in supplying us with 50 medium pizzas.

Thanks to Gary Brown and the rest of the staff at the Brown Bowl for hosting the last two hours of the night's events.

A very special thank you goes out to Phil Ford, the Athletic Director of JCHS. Thank you for reserving a section of bleachers exclusively for our group. Also, thanks for allowing us to attend the game free of charge. (As long as we wore our new Boys and Girls Club shirts that we distributed prior to the pizza party at the Jay Community Center.)

Thanks to Andy Wellman for designing the front of this year's T-shirts.

Once again, thanks to everyone mentioned above. Without your generosity in assisting us throughout the evening's activities, none of this would have been possible. Our sincerest apologies if we forgot to mention anyone.
