Thanks to Clamme for service

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Public servants do not receive the thanks and praise they deserve. One of those would be Robert Clamme. Thank you goes to Bob for 24 years of service to Jay County as prosecuting attorney.
During my employment in the prosecutor’s office, I found Bob to be dedicated, fair and thorough in his position as prosecutor. Cases were reviewed thoroughly based on the facts presented before making a decision. I felt his position was to be fair and do the right thing in each and every case.
Bob loved to read and spent hours researching the law when reviewing cases and preparing for hearings and/or trials. The office staff knew how important it was for him to be prepared in representing the State and to do his very best for the citizens of Jay County.
It was a pleasure to work for Bob for more than 20 years both in the prosecutor’s office and his private practice. Best wishes to Mr. Clamme as he approaches retirement.
Sincerely,
Carol Hedges

JCC thanks
To the editor:

We would like to take this time to once again thank everyone who was involved with helping the Jay Community Center provide yet another successful Christmas party for the Jay County Boys and Girls clubs. We had 123 kids attend this year’s festivities. The night began at the Jay Community Center. The kids were given this year’s Boys and Girls Club t-shirts and they were then treated to a pizza party. After the pizza party, the kids were bused to JCHS to watch and support the Jay County Patriots boys basketball team defeat the visiting Muncie Southside Rebels. After the conclusion of the game, the kids were then taken to the Brown Bowl for the last two hours of the party.
This event would not have been possible without an awesome group of volunteers that were very gracious in assisting us with the night’s activities. This group included the following: Ned Stucky, Dale Ainsworth, Chuck & Melissa Denney, Terry & Joni Robbins, Austin Butcher, Kyla Baldwin, Taylor Burris, Jordan Hatfield, and Tyler Schmit.
We would also like to thank FCC (Indiana) and the United Way of Jay County for their continued support of the Jay County Boys and Girls clubs.
Here is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the staff of the Jay Community Center.
Sincerely,
Eric Butcher, director,
Jay County Boys Club
and Laura Baldwin, director,
