Thanks to costume participants, helpers (10/28/05)

To the editor:

The Jay County Public Library would like to thank everyone who participated and helped with the Halloween Costume Contest.

Domino’s Pizza co-sponsored the event and graciously provided all of the refreshments for the evening as well as the first place prizes.

There were a lot of great costumes and very patient parents and we appreciate all of you. It’s great when the community of Portland comes together to support library events. It’s patrons like you that help make our programs successful.

Thanks again to all of the parents, children, judges (Debbie Adams, Linda Frantz, Barbie Laux, Helen Mills), volunteers (Janice Bray, Nancy Garringer, Cathy Layman, Sheila Stults) and Tana, Carrie, and Duane from Domino’s Pizza!

Benefit thanks

To the editor:

We would like to take this time to thank all the people and businesses in the community that supported the benefit that was held Oct. 9, in support of our son, David Pogue Jr.

Very special thanks goes out to Will and Micah. Thank God you were there when the accident happened and you had the knowledge to apply the tourniquet that save our son’s life.
