Tobe, Kahlig lead FR

FORT RECOVERY - A fast start and the one-two scoring punch of Craig Tobe and Greg Kahlig were more than enough to keep the Fort Recovery Indians perfect so far this season.
The Indians, hosting Parkway in their Midwest Athletic Conference opener, sprinted out to a 15-point lead after one quarter and got a combined 49 points from Tobe and Kahlig in a 68-45 win over the visiting Panthers.
Fort, now 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the MAC, led 7-0 and 14-4 in the first period, which closed with the home team ahead 23-8.
The Indians pulled out to a 41-22 advantage at halftime before cruising to a comfortable win.
Tobe, who connected on 9-of-12 shots from the floor (including 2-of-3 from 3-point range), added four free throws in as many attempts for a game-high 24 points.
Kahlig, a senior who has already surpassed the 1,000-point mark, added 19 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and had a game-high seven assists. His 19 points moved him up two spots, passing Tom Bryan and Bob Leverette, to third on Fort Recovery's all-time boys scoring list with 1,181.
Fort's Cody Fiely added nine points to the offensive attack.
The Indians shot 48 percent from the floor Friday (28-of-58), including 36 percent from 3-point range (4-for-11).
Corey Decker and Ryan Steinbrunner had nine points each for Parkway, which was held to 33 percent (16-for-48) by the Indians' defense.
Parkway won Friday's junior varsity game by a 37-36 margin, holding off a second half comeback by the Indians.
