Toilet paper no decoration (10/1/04)

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

While there is not a law banning toilet-papering, it is still trespassing on private property and disrespectful.

For some reason, some of the parents in Jay County are finding no problem in their children continuously toilet-papering private properties. The first time it happened to us it was funny. The second was a little irritating — epecially when cleaning it up the next morning; but the third week in a row was a bit much.

I realize the children are looking at it as being fun, a way to release the pressure of their lives, but enough is enough.

Most of these kids are late elementary to junior high age and are good kids. But, parents, what type of “fun” is going to happen next when they get bored with the toilet papering? My family has worked way too hard to obtain the nice materialistic things such as our home, vehicles, etc., to have something happen to them.
