Tribe beats Minster (01/24/2009)

Fort Recovery's boys settled down and started hitting shots in the second half, battling back to a 56-44 win over Minster.
The Indians (8-3) went into halftime down by five after Minster went on a 13-4 run, including a string of three 3-pointers to close the first half.
The Tribe struggled in the first 16 minutes, shooting 8-of-24 from the field. But it came out after the midpoint and fixed the shooting woes.
Fort Recovery battled back in the third, taking the lead for good on two free throws by Brady Kahlig with 12 seconds remaining.
Greg Kahlig drilled a jumper with three seconds remaining in the third to push the lead to four.
The Indians led throughout fourth quarter, with the Wildcats never getting within three points again. The Tribe connected on 13-of-20 (65 percent) of their field goals in the second half, and held Minster to just 33 percent shooting after halftime.
Greg Kahlig dropped 22 points to lead all scorers while scooping up eight rebounds and dishing out five assists. Brady Kahlig put up 14 points. Frank Thein added nine points, seven boards, eight assists and five steals for the Tribe.
Jack Griner led Minster with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Cody Fiely and Michael Gaerke finished with 19 and 18 points respectively, but the FRHS junior varsity team fell short, 53-51.[[In-content Ad]]
