DELPHOS and ROCKFORD, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s eighth grade girls basketball team earned a place in the Midwest Athletic Conference tournament championship game Monday. The Indian freshman boys fell just short in their MAC game.
Both games were tight, with the eighth grade girls topping the St. Henry Redskins 22-20 in semifinal action. The freshman boys fell 63-62 to the Parkway Panthers.
Josie Guggenbiller led Fort Recovery to the eighth grade girls (10-5) MAC title game — they will play Delphos St. John’s Saturday for the championship at Versailles — with eight points. Nicole Pottkotter added seven points, and Kelsey Brockman had six.
The freshman boys team got 24 points from Tom Will in the defeat. Brent Faller added 16 points, Frank Thien had seven and three other Indians finished with five.[[In-content Ad]]
