Tribe moves to 2-0 in MAC (12/17/06)

FORT RECOVERY - These Indians can shoot.
Solid field goal percentages, particularly in a come-from-behind third quarter, made all the difference Friday night as the hot-shooting Fort Recovery Indians knocked off the Coldwater Cavaliers 54-47.
The Tribe, which finished 0-9 in the Midwest Athletic Conference has now opened the 2006-07 with back-to-back MAC wins. It is 4-1 overall.
Clint Tobe led the Indians with 18 points, hitting 9-of-14 from the field.
Aaron Kahlig scored 12 for Fort Recovery, including a perfect 6-for-6 effort from the free-throw line. Toby Metzger scored 11 points, and Greg Kahlig added seven.
The Indians hit 42 percent of their shots from the field, but the shooting in the second half was even better at 48 percent. Meanwhile, the Tribe was nearly unstoppable when it came to free throws, hitting 83 percent for the game and 90 percent in the second half.
Tobe grabbed seven rebounds and Tony Diller six in the win.
Coldwater led 14-12 at the end of the first quarter and 23-21 at the half. But the Indians roared back in the third, outscoring the visitors 16-9. That made it 37-32 at the end of three, and the Indians kept it out of reach the rest of the way.
Cory Klenke led the Cavaliers with 18 points, and Seth Kahle had 10.
In the JV contest, the Indians fell to Coldwater 54-48. Wes Kahlig was Fort Recovery's leading scorer with 19 points. Brent Faller had 14.[[In-content Ad]]
