Tribe runners fourth at Eaton (09/20/05)

Fort Recovery cross country

BROOKVILLE — The Tribe runners put together another solid effort Saturday.

Fort Recovery’s girls cross country team finished fourth at the 13-team Eaton Invitational, scoring 140 points. It finished behind Division III No. 1 Minster (19), Division III No. 10 Fort Loramie (79) and Anna (120).

The Indian boys were 13th out of 14 teams with 320 points, finishing in front of Houston (400). Minster was first with 60 points.

Freshman Tina Roessner took the top spot for the Tribe girls, staying just ahead of teammate Mindy Vogel. Roessner placed 17th overall with a time of 20-minutes, 54 seconds, and Vogel was seven seconds behind her in 18th.

Sandra Sudhoff was third for Fort Recovery in 29th at 21:29.

Sam Bihn finished 33rd in 22:00 and Lindsay Sudhoff placed 47th in 23:22.

Mitch Fullenkamp and Jim Roessner were the top Tribe boys, finishing in 24th and 41st respectively. Fullenkamp crossed the line in 17:51, and Roessner followed with 18:42.

They were followed by Matt Heinrichs (93rd - 21:23), Tyler Huelskamp (96th - 22:09) and Joel Bey (107th - 24:54).

Junior high

Fort Recovery’s girls were 11th at Eaton while the boys did not have enough runners to post a team score.

Abby Sudhoff placed 20th for the girls team, finishing in 16:02. Hilary Pottkotter was 23rd in 16:35, and Alison Tobe was 24th in 16:41.

Kelsey Brockman placed 33rd in 17:45, and Emily Bauer finished 34th with a time of 17:50.

Running for the Indian boys were Ryan Heitkamp (78th - 13:19), Caleb Heitkamp (87th - 13:34) and Alan Vogel (115th - 14:16).[[In-content Ad]]
