Tribe stays No. 3 (02/01/07)
FRHS girls basketball
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Fort Recovery girls basketball team stood strong in the state poll this week. Now it will have to do the same in its biggest test of the season tonight.
The Indians (14-2) stayed at No. 3 in the Division IV girls basketball poll released Wednesday by The Associated Press. At the Fort Site Fieldhouse tonight they host the Division III No. 4 St. John's Blue Jays (15-0) in a game that will likely decide the Midwest Athletic Conference title.
Fort Recovery finished with 208 points in this week's poll, holding their spot for the third straight week. They rank behind No. 1 Columbus Africentric (16-1) with 264 points and Hopewell-Loudon (15-0) with 240. Berlin Hiland (12-3) is fourth at 179.
St. John's, which defeated the Tribe 45-36 a year ago, is the only undefeated team in the MAC at 6-0.
Fort Recovery is second in the league at 5-1.
The Indians already have a win against one top 10 school in Division III, having scored a 47-38 triumph over No. 7 Versailles (15-2) in December.[[In-content Ad]]
