FRHS boys basketball
HOUSTON, Ohio — In their big wins this year the Indians have been a third-quarter juggernaut. Saturday night was no different.
Fort Recovery outscored the Houston Wildcats by 15 points in the third period as they picked up their first road win of the season, 68-34.
The victory also pushed the team’s win total past that of a year ago when it finished just 6-15.
The Indians (7-4) got a nice lead-in to their third-quarter show with a strong finish to the second. They led just 20-19 with four minutes to go in the first half, but finished on an 11-3 run with five points from Trent Brunswick and four more from Tyler Wuebker.
Houston got a hint of hope with a 3-pointer just over a minute after the intermission from Brian Feather, but it didn’t get much more. The Wildcats scored just one point in the rest of the quarter as Fort Recovery dominated.
Wuebker got the 17-1 run going as he hit a jumper on an assist from Greg Faller. Travis VanSkyock took care of much of the scoring during the stretch as he scored nine of the Tribe’s points.
The Indians went on to an 18-8 advantage in the fourth quarter to finish off the win.
