FRHS football

ROCKFORD, Ohio — Big plays did the Indians in Friday night as Parkway rumbled to a 30-7 win.

It would have been a shut-out but for a 64-yard touchdown run by Michael Trobridge with 1:20 left on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Parkway jumped out in front at 7:26 in the first quarter when Jason Fisher nailed a 27-yard field goal to put the Panthers up 3-0.

With 7:12 on the clock in the second, Parkway’s Mark Snyder blocked Bobby Rammel’s punt. Jordan Thompson gathered up the loose ball for the Panthers and scored to make it 9-0. The Indian line stiffened to thwart Cameron Roehm’s attempt at a 2-point conversion.

Parkway quarterback David Bell then kicked into action, hitting Thompson for a 47-yard touchdown pass play at 5:20 in the second. With Jason Fisher’s extra-point kick, the score was 16-0 Parkway at the half-time buzzer.

After a scoreless third quarter, Bell revved it up again with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Mark Snyder for the Panthers. Fisher’s kick was good, making it 23-0. Bell would go on to complete 6 of 11 passes for a total of 119 yards. Parkway’s final touchdown of the night came at 2:22 in the fourth on a 25-yard run by Josh Fisher. Jason Fisher’s good kick made it 30-zip.

Trobridge brought the Indians into the game with his 64-yard run, and Jordan Staugler kicked the extra point to make it 30-7. Trobridge ran for 119 net yards on 18 carries.

Toby Metzger completed 5 of 16 passes for the Indians for 69 yards.[[In-content Ad]]
