Tuesday is time to vote (11/03/07)
Races for city and town offices in Indiana, along with school board and village offices in Fort Recovery, will be decided in Tuesday's general election.
In most instances, polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.
In Jay County, races for mayor highlight the ballot in Portland and Dunkirk.
In Portland, incumbent Bruce Hosier is being challenged by city councilman Jim Sanders, while in Dunkirk, current Mayor Sam Hubbard is running against Ron Hunt.
There are four contested races for city council in Portland, while other contested races in Dunkirk include city court judge and one seat on the council.
Redkey's ballot is highlighted by five candidates running for three at-large council seats. The field there includes three Democrats and two Independents.
A crowded field of candidates will be on the ballot in Bryant, including four running for clerk-treasurer and seven running for three seats on the town council. All of the candidates in Bryant filed to run as Independents.
In Pennville, there is a choice for both clerk-treasurer and the middle district council seat, while five Independent candidates are in the running for three council seats in Salamonia.
In Geneva, two of three council districts (1 and 3) are contested.
The ballot in Fort Recovery is highlighted by a crowded field of seven in the race for three open seats on the school board.
