Two file for school board

Two candidates have filed for positions on the Jay School Board. Carl E. Ashman, 1258 Deerhaven Drive, Portland, filed Tuesday for the District 5 seat currently held by Larry Paxson.
He and Ronald Laux, who filed Aug. 3, are currently the only two candidates for the school board seat.
Brian Jobe, 5591 North Ind. 1, Pennville, filed Wednesday morning for the District 3 seat, which is currently held by Jay Halstead. Halstead is not expected to seek re-election for that seat.
No candidates other than  Jobe have filed for the seat.
