United Way reaches goal
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Jay County has once again proven it can Live United.
The United Way of Jay County is proud to announce that the 2013 goal of $200,000 has been surpassed.
With the awesome giving by Jay County residents, those working in Jay County and the award of a matching grant from the United Way of Indiana, we have raised $208,996, or 104 percent of our goal. These funds will allow the United Way of Jay County to fund programs in the area that will benefit many.
We would like to thank each and every one of you who wrote a check or signed a pledge card. And a special thanks to all of you who helped us surpass our goal by volunteering your time and talents or by conducting a workplace campaign.
It truly takes all of you to Live United.
Jane Ann Runyon
Executive director

Celebrating
To the editor:
We are pleased to announced the Jay County Cancer Society will be celebrating its 50th anniversary during 2014.
It is important we celebrate this milestone with our friendsĀ who have made the local cancer society possible. Cancer has touched all of our lives.
We are asking the community to join just the fourth Friday of each month to honor and remember someone special with whom cancer has touched their life by wearing the cancer color of the month. March is Colon Cancer Awareness month with the color being blue. Please join us March 28 by wearing blue.
By tuning in to Health Talks with Jay County Hospital on our local radio station, WPGW, and reading The Commercial Review, you will be connected to the Jay County Cancer Society. We will continue to provide the color representing a specific cancer each month. We feel this is one simple way we can help you to recognize cancer awareness and provide support to our friends and neighbors in the surrounding areas.
The Jay County Cancer Society is proud to serve Jay County. All funds raised by the Jay County Cancer Society stay in Jay County and help Jay County residents financially. We look forward to many more years of providing assistance to our friends and neighbors.
Thank you for your support.
