Victim asks driver to come clean
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Shame on you!
I would like to address this to the person that hit my van on Oct. 4 at 5:10 p.m. in the parking lot at CVS in Portland. My son, who recently got his driver’s license, was sitting in the van as a driver while I was picking up a prescription medication in the store.
He was parked in a parking spot facing Meridian Street and when you backed out of your spot behind him you hit our van. Then you proceeded to take off and my son did not know to get your plate number, being a young driver. He would not drive home from there.
You were driving a small car, light blue with a square looking back end. You were an elderly man with an elderly woman. When the officer arrived we were told they could be anywhere by now and that is what we have insurance for. Well, that is untrue. That is what you have insurance for.
You scraped the paint to the metal plus put an outward dent where you hit it.
I bet you have dark blue from our van on your car. We work hard to have nice things. Be honest and come forward.
