Vormohr helps Cards in victory
Collegiate Check-up
Cori Vormohr helped the Ball State University women’s swim team dominate the 200-yard medley relay Friday in its 195-101 destruction of visiting Illinois State.
Vormohr, a 2009 Jay County High School graduate, was part of the runner-up B relay for the Cardinals, who took first, second and fourth in the opening event of the night. She teamed with Mallory Przybylinski, Mallory Miles and Alanna Bader for a second-place time of 1 minute, 50.98 seconds.
The sophomore finished fourth in her lone individual event in the meet, posting a time of 1:09.77 in the 100 breaststroke. She also joined Nikki Saulters, Jillian Bischoff and Maria Gramelspacher for third place in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:41.36.
Ball State is 4-1 in dual meets this year and has won the Ball State Relay, House of Champions and Coers invitationals. It was third out of 12 teams at the Eastern Michigan Invitational.

Helped the NCAA Division II No. 6 University of Findlay men’s basketball team improve its record to 14-1.
Kahlig finished with eight points, including a 4-of-4 effort at the free-throw line, in the Oilers’ 73-71 victory Saturday over Wayne State. He added one rebound, one block and one steal.
The freshman also totaled six points, five assists, four rebounds and two blocks Jan. 13 as Findlay topped Lake Erie 76-53.
Tyler Rigby
Jay County – 2006
Was one of six players in double figures Saturday in the Indiana University East men’s basketball team’s 109-88 victory over Alice Lloyd.
Rigby hit a couple of 3-pointers and finished with 10 points in the win. He also had four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block for the Red Wolves (13-7).
Joanna Snyder

Grabbed nine rebounds for the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team Saturday in its 56-54 loss to Baldwin-Wallace.
Snyder’s effort helped lead the Polar Bears (12-4) to a 40-34 advantage on the glass, but they were outscored 21-4 at the foul line in the loss. She also had three assists, two points and a steal.

Competed in the pole vault for the Kent State University men’s track team Friday in its 82-69 loss to Akron.
Shreve finished ninth in the event, clearing the bar at 14 feet, ½ inch.[[In-content Ad]]
