Vormohr's Panthers get 1st win (11/01/2008)

A Jay County High School graduate and his teammates picked up their first victory.
Joseph Vormohr, a Hanover College junior, started at left guard as the Panthers rallied for a 35-34 victory over Manchester.
Vormohr and the rest of the offensive line had a stellar blocking day as Hanover picked 160 yards on the ground. They did not allow a sack while quarterback Nick Sharp tossed for 207 yards.
The Panthers posted 28 points in the second half, including three TDs in the fourth quarter, to earn the victory.

Racked up career highs kills and digs Thursday as the University of Dayton volleyball team swept Xavier.
Gaerke racked up 17 kills and 13 digs in the Flyers' 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 victory. She had nearly twice as many kills as anyone else on the team with her .452 attack percentage, and also added one block.
The sophomore had nine kills in a loss Oct. 24 to No. 25 St. Louis, and totaled seven kills, one dig and one block in Sunday vs. Duquesne.
Jill Roughia
Jay County - 2005
Led the Huntington University women's cross country team Oct. 25 at the Malone College Short Course Open.
Roughia's time of 16-minutes, 54 seconds was the fastest of any Forester as she finished in 15th place. It was the second consecutive meet in which she set the pace for HU.
Alyssa Johnson
Jay County - 2006
Just missed leading the Taylor University women's cross country team as it compete Oct. 25 at the NAIA Grand Lakes Invitational.
Johnson finished 29th overall, just one spot behind her Trojan teammate Hilary Pederson. They posted identical times of 19-minutes, 15 seconds as Taylor finished 11th out of 20 teams.

Also competed at the NAIA Grand Lakes Invitational, just missing a scoring spot for Indiana Wesleyan.
Johnson was the No. 8 runner for the 11th-ranked Wildcats, finishing in 20-minutes, 1 second.[[In-content Ad]]
