Wanner key in Trojans' victory

Collegiate Check-up

The Trojans hung strong against a nationally-ranked opponent before falling in their final game in September. A former Starfire helped them bounce back.
Dustin Wanner, a 2012 South Adams High School graduate, played a key roll as the Taylor University football team slowed down the Concordia offense Saturday as the Trojans rolled to a 47-7 victory.
Wanner made two tackles, including one for a loss, for the Taylor defense, which limited Concordia to just 2.5 yards per play. He also broke up one pass attempt.
The Trojans (3-2) have alternated wins and losses this year, topping Anderson, Lane and Concordia. Their losses came by scores of 48-37 to NAIA No. 11 Saint Ambrose and 21-10 to No. 25 William Penn on Sept. 28.
Wanner, a sophomore, has 11 tackles and two interceptions on the season.
