Waste district short for meeting
Jay County Solid Waste District
A shortage of members left the Jay County Solid Waste District board of directors unable to hold an official meeting Monday.
Board members Milo Miller Jr., Faron Parr and Bill Gibson instructed district director Kay Hayes to pay necessary claims, and that the board would ratify that decision at its next meeting. The largest claim, at slightly more than $24,000, was for the company contracted to handle the collection and hauling of materials from Tox-A-Way Day in September.
Four board members are required to be present for a voting quorum for the seven-member board.
Members Bruce Hosier, Ron Hunt, Jim Zimmerman and Dan Orr were not present Monday.[[In-content Ad]]
