Waugh wins three championships

Erika Waugh was in the pool for six different races. She won championships in three.
The 2011 South Adams High School graduate won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association 200-yard backstroke title and contributed to a pair of relay wins Saturday for host Calvin College.
Waugh never trailed in the backstroke, taking a lead of more than a second in the first 100 yards. She cruised to victory by nearly two seconds in 2 minutes, 3.49 seconds.
The junior swam the lead leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay, joining Margaret Rechel, Alex Dhaenens and Kathryn Wrobel for a winning time of 7:42.39. She also teamed with Michaela Rookus, Kristen Kinzer and Wrobel for a winning time of 1:46.66 in the 200 medley relay.
Waugh was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke, and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley.

Fort Recovery – 2010
Followed up his third Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week Award with a 40-point performance Saturday in the University of Findlay men’s basketball team’s 79-69 win over Lake Erie.
Kahlig was on fire, hitting 6-of-10 3-point tries and shooting 11-of-16 from the field overall. He added a 12-of-13 effort at the foul line as he climbed to 11th in NCAA Division II in scoring at 22.8 points per game.
The senior also had 17 points Feb. 13 for the Oilers (19-4) in a 69-55 victory over Ashland.

Jay County – 2013
Scored season highs in back-to-back games for the Anderson University men’s basketball team.
Schwieterman first surpassed his season-high Saturday when he shot 10-of-12 from the field and scored 21 points for the Ravens (5-18) in an 86-66 loss to Hanover.
He added 10 rebounds for a double-double, and also had three blocks, one assist and one steal.
The freshman bumped up his scoring again Wednesday, shooting 11-of-20 for 24 points in a 70-51 loss to Mount St. Joseph. He also had five rebounds, two assists and a block.[[In-content Ad]]
