Weighing in on races
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I would like to take the time to thank you for the support that you have shown my family and me over the past 20 years.
I appreciate you voting to elect me as Jay County Coroner and Jay County Councilman.
I would also like to take the time to recognize one of my deputy coroners who is running for coroner.
I would like to ask the citizens of Jay County to vote for Darrin James as coroner.
He is a certified medicolegal death investigator and has been a deputy coroner for six years. I think he would be a great candidate to serve you as corner.
Sincerely,
Mark Barnett

Not moderate
To the editor:
The Blue Dog Coalition of so called moderate democrats was founded in the House of Representatives in 1995 to counter election losses blamed on the liberal wing of the party. The most famous Indiana Blue Dog was Senator Evan Bayh even though Senators were not technically part of the group. While a voice for moderation when it was founded, the group moved ever further to the left as control of the party has passed to the extreme left.
By 2006, when the Democrats took control of both houses of Congress promising change for the better, they doubled the deficit in their first full fiscal year. And that was before the recession hit.
Instead of pushing moderation, Joe Donnelly and the Blue Dogs elected extreme left wing San Francisco Liberal Nancy Pelosi to be speaker of the House and next in line after Biden to be President. “Bi-Partisan” Joe voted with extremely partisan Pelosi 88 percent of the time. And two years later Obama, having been a Senator in the controlling party, inherited the economy from himself and Beltway Joe’s Blue Dogs.
Some of their “Moderate” accomplishments are Fannie & Freddie Bailout, TARP, 2009 Stimulus, Cash for Clunkers, Auto Bailout, and ObamaCare, which Joe promised his district that he would not vote for with government funded abortion, but caved like a house of cards when Obama and Pelosi put on the pressure.
Richard Mourdock will represent Indiana instead of Pelosi.
