Wife, husband: Thanks for care

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

On Oct. 14, my husband had a heart attack. If it wasn't for 911, paramedics, first responders, Portland Police, Jay Emergency Medical Service and God for giving them the knowledge to know what to do, my husband's live wouldn't have been saved.

They were so kind and professional. I'll never be able to thank them enough. I lost my job of 22 years a week ago, but I still have my husband for Christmas.

Club thanks

To the editor:

I would like to take this time to thank everyone that helped the Jay Community Center provide another successful Christmas party for the Jay County Boys and Girls Club.

The Boys and Girls Club members were all given t-shirts and then they were treated to Pizza Hut pizza, chips, and soft drinks. After the pizza party the kids were taken to a Jay County Boys basketball game. Following this portion of the evening, the kids were then bused to the Brown Bowl for 2 hours of bowling and fun that led to the conclusion of the evening.

Without the collaborative efforts from an awesome bunch of volunteers and organizations, none of this would have been possible.

So I would like to give a huge thank you to the following list of people: Jack Houck, Laura Baldwin, Rich & Carolyn Carducci, Terry & Joni Robbins, Chuck Denney, Dale Ainsworth, Janet Bantz, Ned Stucky, Ashley Horn, Kyla Baldwin, and Julie Newberry. I would also like to thank FCC, Jay County United Way, The Portland Foundation and the JCHS athletic department for supporting the Jay County Boys and Girls Clubs.

Once again, thanks to everyone involved, and here is looking forward to next year.

Eric Butcher, Boys

Club director,

Jay Community Center
