YSB asks for holiday donations

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
When the trees begin to burst in color and the air takes a chill, is the time when we at Youth Service Bureau begin planning our Christmas celebration.
As many of you know, each year we throw a Christmas party for the children and youth in residence and those in our community-based services. It is a family-style gathering with lots of guests, lots of fun, and even more food. As the evening progresses, Santa Claus soon appears with his sack full of gifts provided so generously by you.
The kids’ packages include some basic necessities like clothes, shoes, hats and gloves, but also a few of the gifts are special and fun items such as a favorite CD, game, book or a toy that was wished for.

We need your support. Would you please be willing to give a contribution in the amount of $100 per child to be used to purchase Christmas gifts? If you wish to sponsor one child, wonderful. If you wish to sponsor additional children, we are truly appreciative of such generosity. Your gifts will help us provide Christmas not just to our residents, but to the many children in our community-based programs who, without your help, would receive few if any gifts at all this Christmas.
You can help us make Christmas special for them by forwarding any amount you choose to the Youth Service Bureau, 603 W. Arch St., Portland, IN, 47371. Please designate your donation as being for Christmas. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (260) 726-8520 or at [email protected].
With great appreciation,
Reda Theurer-Miller, CEO, for the board members, children and staff of Youth Service Bureau.[[In-content Ad]]
