YSB elves say thanks for help

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
On Dec. 3 and 4, the Youth Service Bureau (YSB) held its first “YSB Elves” event at the Jay County Library.
Through the generosity and support of many in our community, the event was very successful as 190 children and families received toys for Christmas.
With much gratitude, the Youth Service Bureau of Jay County, Inc. wishes to share our appreciation with all who participated and made this project the success it was.
First, a big thank you to the Jay County Library for furnishing the room that became Santa’s workshop for two days.
Next, a special thank you must go to the youth enrolled in the YSB Day Treatment program. These young people organized the toys and assisted in giving the toys to the participants.  Another special thank you goes to Sharon Beeler, a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, for her generous donation of toys and time.  She helped Santa take the toys to the Library and was one of the elves who helped throughout the event.

We also offer a very special thank you to Tonya Upp and the Dollar General store.  She and her company invited customers to donate toys at the store.  Tonya delivered the toys to the Library, assisted us in setting up, and she too, was an elf for the event.
Finally, but certainly not least, a thank you must go to WPGW and John Boggs for doing an interview on the event, and to all the staff of the YSB who helped with this project.
To all of you in this great community who provided and helped, thank you for making this event a success and thus a very special Christmas for many children in our community. You are all fantastic elves!
Blessings to all and our warmest regards,
