The junior class survived three extra sessions Wednesday, winning the Jay County High School powderpuff football title 12-6 in overtime over the freshmen when Abby Wendel caught a TD pass on fourth down.
Wendel, who also caught the game-tying touchdown pass as time expired in regulation, made the grab about the 2-yard line and lunged across the goal line for the winning score.
The juniors topped the sophomores 16-8 in double overtime in the semifinal round.
