Gay marriage could be next step

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Mr. Abdul Hakim-Shabazz must think that he is some kind of champion, like Goliath making fun of little David.
However, Mr. Shabazz’s offensive poke at God’s Word recently sounded like Goliath’s remarks before his defeat.
“A lot of social conservatives think this (same-sex marriage) is the final step of America’s 500-yard dash toward Sodom and Gomorrah.”
Let me remind you liberal journalists that this is not about “gay rights.” This is about “God’s Rights” and God’s Holy Word. Even when someone said, “This is no longer a moral issue, it is a legal issue,” God is the ultimate judge.
I’m not a lawyer, nor am I a journalist. Really, I’m a nobody. But I am sick and tired and I’ve had it up to here with all you “politically correct” wise guys who have now determined that God, the Bible and all conservative Bible-believing Christians’ beliefs are no longer relevant to this issue. All the judges now think they have “bumped over” the Almighty and have changed what is right and what is wrong.
I am shocked and embarrassed at our local newspaper, carrying Leonard Pitts Jr. and others that encourage the breakdown and disintegration of the family in our society and in the church.
Once again, this little pastor waited patiently on the better educated, even more respectful and highly esteemed ministers in this area to speak, but, not a peep.
God’s people need to wake up. God’s Word is being trampled in the courtroom. What about God’s Rights? What about the “Magna Carta” of God’s Authority — the Holy Bible?
The problem is each church is containing their message in the four walls. The church must leave the building and we must call our Senator, we must write letters to the editor and we must vote. (Also, read 2 Chronicles 7:14)

One hundred churches in Jay County need to get fired up. Pray the fire down on your 6-foot icicle in the pulpit and let the people know that we will never allow the liberal judges, journalists, editors and the news media to change what God says is an abomination into an accepted lifestyle.
Critics say Jesus never said one word about homosexuals. The Lord Jesus didn’t have to, because he had already addressed it in Leviticus 18:22-30.
Remember these are God’s Words. It’s not about “gay rights,” it’s about God’s Word.
These are Jesus’ words in Leviticus, because He is Lord. He is God manifested in the flesh. (I Timothy 3:16)
This generation needs to know that not everybody has “bowed their knees to Baal.” Where are you Christians?
Finally, to you journalists who live to make fun at Bible-thumping, King James Version Bible Jesus freaks, remember Jude (verse 7).
“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, in like manner, giving them over to fornication, and going after ‘strange flesh’ (Greek: anything contrary to nature) are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
So, Mr. Shabazz, it may not be a 500-yard dash. It could be the next step.
