Breaking: 1-to-1 program to grow

A pilot program putting technology in the hands of 9th graders will be expanded to all class levels at Jay County High School next fall. Jay School Board members voted unanimously Monday night to expand the 1-to-1, bring-your-own device program based upon its early success. About 40 percent of 9th graders bring an Internet-capable device of their own, while the other 60 percent rent Chromebooks from the school corporation in much the same way that textbooks have been rented in the past. “It’s been great,” said JCHS principal Chad Dodd.
