United Way Blitz set for next week

To the editor:
The annual Small Business Blitz for United Way will be held Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Blitz event is when volunteers try to visit all the small businesses in Jay County.
This year you’ll see volunteers making personal visits from 9 to 11 a.m.
Blitzing volunteers deserve special recognition, and if you see one out and about on Tuesday or Wednesday, or perhaps making a later follow-up visit, please thank them for their service to the community.
During the annual Blitz, Jay County small business owners have always demonstrated that their hearts are very giving. The response last year was wonderful, and we could not thank everyone enough for their generosity in helping to meet and even exceed the $17,313 goal for small business division.
If you have to miss the Blitz, no need to fear, your donation will be welcomed at any time.
Special thanks to our business owners who have already donated to United Way and helped the small business division achieve $5,288 on the way to $17,313 goal.
New this year is preferred pickup. If you’re waiting for the volunteer to knock on your door to pick up your donation, call the United Way office at (260) 726-7010 to arrange a preferred pickup.
There are many charitable organizations that would not be able to provide the necessary services if it were not for your generous donations to the United Way. On behalf of those organizations and the United Way, we encourage you to participate in the upcoming Blitz.
