Services for Ernest L. Hollowell, 83, 12404 E. 1000 North, Dunkirk, were held Monday at MJS Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel, with Pastor Susan Dudovey-Antrim officiating. He died Thursday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Born in Eaton to Alma (Moore) and Ernest A. Hollowell, he was a 1949 graduate of Eaton High School and married Vivian Hultz on July 3, 1955. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Dunkirk, and served in the U.S. Marines in Korea. He was retired from working as a stocker and fork lift driver at Borg Warner Muncie.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Gary Hollowell (wife: Beth), Marion, and Michael Hollowell (wife: Marsha), Martinsburg, W. Va.; a brother Fred Hollowell (wife: Jan), Eaton; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today in Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
