Larry Gilbert

Larry L. Gilbert, 76, Redkey, died Tuesday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born to James H. and Mary E. Gilbert, he was a 1957 Redkey High School graduate and joined the U.S. Air Force. He served on Redkey Town Council and worked at Indiana Glass in Dunkirk and General Motors in Muncie. He was a member of Redkey American Legion and Avondale Sympathy Club.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Gilbert; two children, Tracy Gilbert and Trenda Oakley (husband: Wayne), both of Redkey; a brother, Terry Gilbert, Muncie; three sisters, Mary Johnson, Berne, Barbara Stapleton (husband: Bryant), Muncie, and Carolyn Armstrong (husband: Delmar), Dunkirk; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, with military honors.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana (Little Red Door).
