Breaking: Fortkamp places second
Kellie Fortkamp didn’t let a new course hold her back.
Fortkamp placed second overall at the JCHS cross country meet with the Leo Lions and Woodlan Warriors on Tuesday at Hudson Family Park.
The JCHS was in second for the majority of the race, trailing Lindsey Marriott of Leo, who was the eventual winner. Fortkamp’s teammates Erika and Gabby Kunkler followed her in eighth and 10th place, respectively.
Tanner Craw led the JCHS boys with a ninth-place finish.
