Henry Koons

Services for Henry Koons, 88, 923 W. Walnut St. in Portland, are 2 p.m. Friday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland with Pastor Mike Clark officiating. He died Tuesday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born in Arcanum, Ohio, to Samuel and Ethel (Cromwell) Koons, he married Norma Anders on Sept. 24, 1947, and she survives.
A veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, he had worked for Sheller-Globe and Teledyne Portland Forge, and was owner of Koons Upholstery in Portland.
He was a member of the American Legion, attended First Church of the Nazarene and played the guitar in various bands.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Terry Koons (wife: Kristy), Geneva, and Tim Koons (wife: Sue), Portland; two daughters, Debbie Herman (husband: Rick), Pennville, and Kathie Danielson (husband: Tim), Portland; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saratoga Cemetery.
