FFA honored as three star chapter

Jay County High School’s FFA?chapter has been honored as a three-star chapter.
The National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization honors FFA?chapters that complete required activities aimed at helping members grow as individuals, work as a team and serve the community.
Jay County’s chapter and others that have been honored will be recognized at the National FFA?Convention and Expo Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 in Louisville, Ky.

Final jam
The final Bluegrass Jamboree of the season will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva.
Visitors are invited to perform acoustic music or bring a lawn chair and listen to bluegrass ballads, gospel songs and folk tunes.
The Limberlost Visitor Center, cabin and gift shop will also be open.

100th birthday
Florence Coldren, a former Jay County resident, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Sept. 25. Cards may be sent to Hearth of Sycamore Village, 611 W. County Line Road S., Fort Wayne, IN 46814.
