BERNE — The South Adams boys soccer team controlled the second half, as Marco Vasquez completed his hat trick to tie the game at three goals apiece.
But it was a cross attempt by Jay County senior Jalen Ryder in the final minutes that over an outstretched SAHS goalkeeper McGerran Clouser to give the Patriots a 4-3 victory over the host Starfires in Allen County Athletic Conference action.
The Patriots (3-4-1, 1-2 ACAC) built a 3-1 lead at halftime on goals by Nathan Heitkamp, Angel Perez and Alex Abbott.
