Samuel (Sam) Sullivan Apple, 69, Baxter, Tenn., a former Redkey resident, died Thursday at his home.
Born in Jackson County, Tenn., to Leonard Apple and Anna Lee (Redman) Apple, he was a U.S. Army veteran who fought in the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Teledyn Portland Forge in Portland after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his father; two sons, Randy Apple, Hartford City, and Andrew Apple, Montpelier; one daughter, Angela Coffman, Bluffton; one stepbrother, Rick Burchett, Cookeville; three sisters, Josephine McClain (husband: Rex), Hartford City, Patricia Ann William, Algood, Tenn., and Debbie Jones (husband: Kenneth), Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and an aunt and nephew.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville, Tenn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Steve Jones officiating, with burial with military honors to follow at Harris Cemetery.
