Loretta May Smith, 76, Harrisville, Mich., a former Jay County resident, died Saturday.
Born near Salem Center to Robert and Frances (Allen) Greenman, she graduated from Salem Center High School in 1955.
She married Fred Smith on May 27, 1956, at Salem Center Presbyterian Church and in 1959 they moved to Dunkirk. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2001.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland and Redkey Town and Country Extension Homemakers, and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, Mich.
Surviving are two daughters, Careena Scott (husband: Benjamin), Garden Valley, Calif., and Brenda Bray (husband: Richard), Harrisville, Mich.; two sons, Scott Alan Smith (wife: Lisa), Pearland, Texas, and Clyde Frederick Smith (wife: Donna), Avon; a sister, Diana Clingan (husband: Bill), Ashley; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; three nieces and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church. Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, Mich., handled cremation arrangements.
