Thanks for ride support

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
Kicking off the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show, the Jay County Visitor & Tourism Bureau held the seventh annual Tractor Ride on Aug. 19.
What a wonderful day it was.
After leaving the fairgrounds at 9 a.m., we started driving toward Fort Recovery with Matt Tomano as grand marshall. Many interesting sites were seen along the way with a tour at Minnich Poultry and a stop at the Bergman farm to view the over 40 Moline tractors from the gazebo on a hill.
Many beautiful farms were enjoyed along the way to Ambassador Park for lunch.
A history lesson about Fort Recovery was given by Nancy Knapke of the Fort Recovery State Museum.

After leaving J & M Manufacturing, we arrived in Portland and enjoyed home-made ice cream from the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association.
Thank you to Citizens State Bank and Pak-A-Sak for support of the meal.
Thank you to Ralph Frazee of Emergency Management, Jim Bob McEwen, Bob Lyons, Jay County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Recovery Police, Max and Shelba Chenoweth and many individuals too numerous to mention.
Also thank you to Hull Brothers for lending the Kubota that has led our ride each year. Without the work and support of the community, the success of the Tractor Ride would not be nearly as great as it was this year and every year.
