Betty Bixler, 90, Geneva, died Tuesday at Woodcrest of Decatur.
Born in Huntington to Marion O. and Mildred Smith, she was a 1941 graduate of Geneva High School and received her nursing degree from St. John School of Nursing in Anderson.
Preceding her in death was her husband Herman J. Bixler whom she married on Nov. 30, 1947.
She was a nurse at Jay County Hospital, for Dr. Norman Beavers in Berne and for South Adams Schools from 1963 to 1978 and attended First United Methodist Church in Geneva.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Flueckiger (husband: Russ), Geneva; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is noon to 4 p.m. Friday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva, followed by services at 4 p.m.
Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
